| I learned to sew clothes when I was a teen.
My sisters patiently taught me the basics and I had very inspiring Home EC teachers in school. Movies, books, and art were always a source for ideas.
Countless garments made and years later, it was a fur toque in a scene from Dr. Zhivago, that made me want to learn how to make hats.
So, I read anything and everything on millinery, and found a hatter who gave me some lessons. I was hooked. I began making hats for family and friends.
In 1990 my millinery business was launched. I started out doing local art and craft shows, then gallery and fashion shows around the country.
By 2003 I opened FEDORA'S, a custom handmade hat and clothing boutique. That was an amazing experience. Now, www.fedoraandcloche.com is up and running,
an online studio for handmade hats, clothing and accessories. Working together as a team with Shelby and my sister Claudia, FEDORA and CLOCHE will
continue to create fashion that is fun and unpredictable - never ordinary and always handmade just for you.

| It all began in eighth grade Home Economics, making a tie for her father,
and a couple of favorite skirts for herself were the starting point of her sewing skills. She found picking out material and patterns was a way to express creativity,
and create something one-of-a-kind. Traveling to Central America and visiting an aunt who was a seamstress had a definite influence on her skills and sense of style.
Now, an accomplished seamstress herself, she has done everything from weddings, and fashion to interior design. The colors of nature are the inspiration for her work
in design and fashion, as well as photography.
While weddings have been the most challenging projects to date, she looks forward to recycling and redesigning vintage leather.

| At the tender age of four she knew she wanted to be an artist and a nurse.
Those creative and nurturing aspirations developed into a love of photography. She worked as a photographer's apprentice while studying her craft, as well as graphic design.
As a professional photographer her work has won awards around the country. Her creativity has spilled over into many other areas, design and fashion to name a few.
She finds her inspiration for work in architecture and colors, and in the innocence and romance of vintage designs. Her most challenging work has been wedding photography,
an experience that taught her to be assertive and direct. Her motivation is capturing the feelings and emotions of the moment. It is a passion to create whether designing
a hand knit sweater, photographing her children, or making jewelry for a client. Her future projects include interior design, children's clothing, and photography, of course.
